About Me

My approach to Therapy and Hypnotherapy

Nice to meet you

Hi there. My name is Chinmai Gupta and I am a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, Leadership Trainer and mentor based in London.

I have always been an empath. Understanding what causes people pain and helping them find a way through it gives me a great sense of purpose and achievement.

I had the opportunity to train as a therapist after spending 16 years in consulting, working across industries including publishing, insurance, sport, recruitment, charities, and retail. I understand firsthand the challenges and strains of life, especially in fast paced environments, and big city life. I bring this lived experience into the therapy room.

I have transformed my own relationship with stress, anxiety, and negative thought spirals, including health anxiety and misophonia, using the tools I now use. As you can imagine, I am now extremely passionate about the transformational benefits of my therapies.

My work is rooted in a deep desire to touch lives in a meaningful and positive way, and my practice helps me do just that. Everything I do is evidence-based and backed by science.

My approach

I work differently from many hypnotherapists. While I can help with specific issues like anxiety relief or burnout, my approach often goes deeper. I am trained to notice and work with the root of what is causing you emotional distress.

We will together explore the patterns, emotions, and events that may have led to the symptoms you are experiencing today, so that we can work towards deeper recovery and growth.

This is not a quick fix. It is deep, collaborative work that requires a willingness to explore and sit with difficult emotions. I am here to work with you and support you whenever you are ready.

Integrative Approach

I initially trained in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy and have since been deepening my practice through integrative and psychotherapeutic training, bringing in elements from Person-Centred Therapy, Somatic Work, Parts Work, Inner Child Work, Gestalt Therapy, and Mindfulness. I also draw on Psychoanalytic theories to understand the deeper layers of the mind.

This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It is a living, evolving practice that adapts to you.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a powerful tool for making lasting changes. It works directly with the mind-body connection, the way your thoughts shape your physical state, and your physical state shapes your thoughts.

Think about the moment your heart skips when you see someone standing too close to the edge of a cliff. That is the mind-body connection in action. We can use that same connection to help you feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control.
